Data protection and access to your information
The Data Protection Act 1998 sets out what information can be held by organisations about individuals, and how this information is handled and stored.
Examples of the information we hold on you are:
- your name and address
- the names of all the members of your household
- the dates of birth of you and your household members
- telephone numbers
- National Insurance numbers.
You have the right to request to see information we hold on file about you. You should put your request in writing to your housing officer. We have 40 days to reply to your request. There will be a £10 charge for this service. We will remove any information in your file that is about a third party.
To apply to see the information we hold on you, download the subject access request form from the Related Documents links on the right hand side of the page. Once you've filled it in please send it back to your housing office together with a payment of £10. You can also hand in the completed form and payment at your housing office. Addresses for our three housing offices are below.
Yate Area Housing Office
By car: Our offices are just off the B4060 Station Road. There is car parking available on site and on the road in front of the offices.
By train: The nearest train station is Yate Railway Station, a mile and a half away.
Kingswood Area Housing Office
95 High Street
The office is on High Street, next to the South Gloucestershire Council Civic Centre (BS15 9TR). There is limited parking at the office, but parking is available on the surrounding streets. If you're travelling to the office using satnav, please use the Civic Centre's post code - BS15 9TR to direct you to our office.
