First new rental homes in Gloucestershire completed

Work has finished on our first rental homes in Gloucestershire as we increase the number of new homes we build each year.

The homes are part of a development by Redcliffe Homes in the village of Rodborough, which lies within the Stroud District Council area and form part of our expanding development programme. After building 131 homes last year, over the next two years our goal is to complete more than 500 new homes, some of which will be in Gloucestershire.

Development Manager Peter Crouch said: “We’re delighted to have completed our first rental homes in Gloucestershire, which is an important milestone for us as we aim to increase the number of new homes we build. With these homes completed, we’re now looking for more development opportunities in the county as we increase our homebuilding programme to help tackle the shortage of affordable housing in the area.”

“These five homes are fantastic and in an amazing location in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and are sure to be popular. The two shared ownership homes have already been sold and their owners will soon be moving in. The three rental homes are being advertised soon and we’re expecting a lot of interest.”

We are part of the Gloucestershire Homes and Communities Partnership, a partnership of seven major housing organisations committed to tackling the housing shortage in the county. The partnership is working to find solutions to the challenge of building the 50,000 needed in Gloucestershire by 2030.

While the Rodborough homes are the first rented homes we’ve built in the county, we’re also currently building 68 new homes on two sites in Tetbury, in Cotswold District Council's area. These homes will be completed in phases over the next three years.
