Major deal completed for 50 new affordable homes in Wiltshire

We’ve finalised a deal for a major expansion of our properties in Wiltshire, which will provide 50 brand, new affordable homes.

The new homes are being built by Redcliffe Homes on the outskirts of Corsham as part of the larger Park Place development of 170 homes. It's our second development in the county, coming after we secured a deal last year for affordable homes at Ridgeway Farm near Tetbury. It's also the second time we’ve worked in partnership with Redcliffe Homes, having recently taken on five homes at Rodborough Common in Gloucestershire which proved extremely popular with residents.

Development Manager Peter Crouch said: “We’re delighted to be working with Redcliffe Homes again to bring these 50 affordable homes to Corsham. The feedback we’ve received from customers who have moved into the homes we developed with Redcliffe in Rodborough has been really positive, so we’re looking forward to seeing these finished homes, the first of which should be ready in autumn 2018.

“We’ve been accelerating our development programme over the past few years and this latest deal, the second we have agreed with developers in Wiltshire in the last six months, shows our commitment to tackling the housing crisis. The homes will be a mixture of rented and shared ownership, which is a great way for first-time buyers to own their first home.

We recently announced we are in talks to enter into partnership with Bromford to create a housing association that would have ambitions to build 14,000 new homes over the next ten years. The partnership will deliver the largest housing association-led homebuilding programme in its operating area.
