Applications for shared ownership homes now open

Properties at Limeworks, Itchington

A unique opportunity to own your own home in a quiet country village without breaking your budget is one of two shared ownership opportunities we’re currently offering.

We’ve secured five homes being built in the small village of Itchington, near Thornbury which we are offering for shared ownership. The two bedroom homes will cost between £111,000 - £112,500 for a 50% share and will look out over miles of South Gloucestershire farmland. The homes are part of a development of 17 new homes being built by Edenstone Homes in the village.

Sales & Home Ownership Officer Samantha Dore said: “We’re excited about this development as it’s the first time we’re offering all of our homes on a site for shared ownership. Rural life is sadly too expensive for many people, but these homes offer country living at an affordable price. We’re accepting applications for the homes now and we expect them to go fast.”

“We’re also now opening applications for the four shared ownership properties we’re building on the site of the former St Matthias College in Fishponds. The homes are a mix of two and three bedroom homes and are the first of 15 shared ownership homes we’re developing on the site in partnership with Barratt Homes.

“We sold our first shared ownership properties last year and have been overwhelmed by the phenomenal response we had,” Samantha said. “So, as part of our an ambitious building programme for the next 12 months we’re planning to offer at least another 50 shared ownership homes, as part of our wider plans to build 350 new homes.”

More details about all of the individual properties, including how to apply for them are available on our sales page, www.merlinhs.co.uk/sales. Applications for the properties close on Tuesday 10 May.
