In May we started work on the latest phase of the project to refurbish more than 200 non-traditional homes in in Filton, Little Stoke, Cadbury Heath, Winterbourne and Patchway. The homes were all built just after the Second World War and in recent years have suffered from issues with damp and draughts. But by fitting new insulation to the external walls of these properties we are making them warmer and cheaper to heat.
PRC Project Manager Darren Scadding said: “We’ve completed improvements on more than 80 homes and work is ongoing at another 170 and due to be completed in spring next year. This work will not only improve the condition and extend the lifespan of these homes, it will also help customers save money through reduced heating bills. With the weather starting to get colder now, these customers are really going to feel the benefits of this work."
We’d already completed work at 300 homes before the start of the current phase and in total will be refurbishing more than 1,000 homes.
