Members of our development team spent the day at the show talking to potential homebuyers, with the mayor, town crier and fire brigade among the visitors to our stand.
Customer Liaison Officer Sarah Durbin said: “It was a lovely event and it was so nice to have so much support from everyone who attended for affordable housing. Everyone was very warm and welcoming and it was nice to be with people who realised that affordable homes are needed.
“We spoke to lots of people who said their children had to move away from the town because they couldn’t afford to buy in the town which shows the demand for affordable housing in Tetbury. We took a dozen expressions of interest from people and hopefully we’ll get more as some of the other people we spoke to, tell their family and friends about the homes.”
We’ll be selling 27 shared ownership homes at the Highfield Farm development on the outskirts of the town. The homes are part of the 52 we’re taking on from Miller Homes, the first of which are due to be handed over in late autumn.
As well as the 52 homes we’re building at Highfield Park, we’re also building 16 homes at Bath Road in Tetbury in partnership with Hills Homes. These also include five shared ownership homes, although the first homes on this site are not due to be ready until October 2018.
