Our work to build new homes and improve the lives of customers has been shortlisted for three prestigious national awards.
We’ve been shortlisted for the Best Regeneration Scheme, Best Tenant Support and Advice Programme and Social Landlord of the Year (Medium – up to 10,000 properties) in the Housing Excellence Awards. The awards recognise organisations that are providing excellence services in the affordable housing sector.
We’ve been shortlisted for Social Landlord of the Year due to our efforts over the past year when we have built more new homes than ever before, reduced rent arrears to record lows, improved homes by fitting new insulation, increased our operating margin and secured £50m of funding to allow us to further increase our development programme in the years ahead. Our staff are also spending time volunteering with local groups, helping to make a real difference in the communities in which we work.
The Best Regeneration shortlisting is for the work we have been doing in Coalpit Heath to regenerate the area by demolishing old non-traditional properties and building new homes in their place. So far, we have built 39 new homes in the village to replace 18 non-traditional homes and a rank of garages.
We showcased The Wellbeing College project for the Best Tenant Support and Advice Programme award, project which is run through partnership with many through South Gloucestershire including Second Step, the Avon & Wiltshire Partnership Trust and Avon and Somerset Police.
The winners will be decided by a panel of independent judges and will be announced at a ceremony in Manchester in May.
