Refurbishments to 150 properties in the third phase of our project are due to be completed this summer.
The third phase of our non-traditional housing refurbishment project got underway before Christmas to fit new external wall insulation to them to make them warmer in the winter and cheaper to heat. We’ve appointed two contractors to carry out the work to the properties. Keepmoat are working on 100 properties in Filton, Kingswood, Little Stoke and Patchway, while FWJ Limited are working on 50 properties in Thornbury.
Project manager Richard Hopkins said: “It’s been a relatively mild winter with no bad cold spells or storms. This has allowed us to work almost uninterrupted throughout during the past few months.”
Work is well underway at around 100 properties, with several nearing completion. Now we’re turning our attention to the next phase of the project. This will see work carried out to 200 properties in Patchway, Little Stoke, Winterbourne and Cadbury Heath among others.
We’re currently in the process of tendering for a company to carry out all of the work to the remaining 700 properties in the programme. We expect to appoint a company fairly quickly so we’ve got a contractor on board ready to start work on the next phase of the project in the coming months.
