The Housing Innovation Awards celebrate examples of inventive and original schemes and services, and we believe our Flagship PRC Regeneration project fits that bill perfectly.
In place of dowdy PRC homes and derelict garages, we now have 39 bright, modern properties. They are super cheap to heat (by a third than the original PRC homes), full of light, and have meant that 20 more families than were originally housed on the site are now off the waiting list and in a home of their own.
The three bedroomed houses have two bathrooms and customers have been able to chose the layout internally, meaning that they can bespoke their home to their own circumstances.
The properties benefit from mechanical heat ventilation, triple glazing and light wells. One of the streets containing the new homes has been laid out as living street using ‘shared space’ principles making it safe for children and pedestrians.
The work on the flagship is just the first piece in a programme of PRC redevelopment that we are undertaking across a further 150 properties.
The awards will be announced in February next year.
