Shaping your community
We're committed to investing in communities by creating new and innovative ways to engage with our customers, and enhance the communities in which they live. To make a success of this, we need to know what you think needs to be changed.
In the past we've funded homework clubs, apprenticeships with community groups, and older people’s groups. We also provide venues for groups in Staple Hill, Filton and Kingswood and work closely with and support the work of community groups such as Juice Community Project.
We also support communities through the work of our two Community Action Groups. These are groups of residents which fund projects and improvements in their communities.
Got a great idea for your community? If you need funding to support a project, our Communities Grant could be just the thing to make your community even better.
Our Communities Grant aims to provide funding to allow you to improve the community you live in. We award grants in areas we can make the most impact and from invaluable customer information. We understand what the key challenges are for our customers and have grouped these into five key themes. All applications need to meet at least one of the following themes:
- Employment, education, skills and training
- Health and wellbeing
- Community safety
- Environment and regeneration
- Financial inclusion
Who can apply?
If you're a customer who receives a service from us then you are eligible to apply. We also welcome interest from individuals and community groups in the areas where we have properties.
How much can you apply for?
The grant supports two types of application:
- Small grants of between £100 - £1,000
- Large grants of between £1,000 - £3,000
How to apply
If you're unsure whether your project or group is eligible for one of our Community Grants, or you think you'll need help to fill in the application form, please fill in our expression of interest form in the first instance.
Or, if you've already filled in the expression of interest form or have spoken to a member of staff about your application, you can fill in our application form.
The Dragons Den Panel
If you're applying for more than £1,000 you'll have to present your project to our Dragens Den panel of involved customers. The panel will ask questions about your project and will decide whether to provide funding.
