Shaping your community

We're committed to investing in communities by creating new and innovative ways to engage with our customers, and enhance the communities in which they live. To make a success of this, we need to know what you think needs to be changed.

In the past we've funded homework clubs, apprenticeships with community groups, and older people’s groups. We also provide venues for groups in Staple Hill, Filton and Kingswood and work closely with and support the work of community groups such as Juice Community Project.

We also support communities through the work of our two Community Action Groups. These are groups of residents which fund projects and improvements in their communities.

Our programme of regular walkabouts makes sure our neighbourhoods are in good condition and reports any issues either to our repairs team or the local council. We also work with South Gloucestershire Council and other partners to hold Environmental Action Days to carry out minor improvements, repairs and clean-ups of local areas.

After every walkabout we will draw up an list of all the things we've identified that need to be resolved. Some things can be resolved quickly, while others may take a little longer, especially if they involve working with another organisation.

To take part in a walkabout all you have to do is turn up on the day. See the list below for all the upcoming walkabouts.
