Our Independent Living Service has one aim – to deliver a flexible range of support and enhanced housing management services that enable you to stay independent in your own home for as long as you want.
Our dedicated and professional support and scheme management staff offer you a flexible levels of support and assistance based on what you tell us you need. Your support level can be adjusted at short notice to meet with your changing needs.
The support levels on offer vary from ‘Lite’ to ‘Intensive’ and will support you to make choices about your life and the services you wish to engage with. As and when you need to access this service, you will have an assessment which will identify your support needs and together we will agree outcomes from this that we will enable you to achieve.
Through the scheme management service provided by your Scheme Officer you can have weekly on-site contact as well as being offered a monthly home visit to check that you are safe and secure in your home and managing to maintain your tenancy effectively. We are here to help you with this.
Our OkEachDay daily contact system provides you with a way of letting us know every day if you’re okay in your home and if you’re not we can summons assistance for you 365 days of the year.
Some residents feel safer if they also have a pendant alarm. There are a number of local providers that offer this service and we can help you to get one if you want to have one for that added piece of mind so that you can summons help in an emergency.
Anyone moving into our independent living communities will have automatic access to an assessment for our support services; however other customers within our properties are able to access them via our short term response service.
Independent living services
From coach trips and armchair aerobics to sing-a-longs and fish and chip suppers; we’ll help you build a real sense of community and increase your sense of wellbeing and belonging through our activities service.Our Independent Living Advisors work with residents to co-ordinate regular social activities and events across our supported housing communities.
There’s something for everyone and the service is totally resident-led – we just help make things happen. We’ll encourage you to get involved if you want to, and help you shape it to what you want.
We have a free, short-term response service that offers support to people aged 55 and over after life-changing events.
If you’re living with a condition that suddenly gets worse, or recovering from an illness or spell in hospital, it can feel like a struggle. Similarly, if you’re going into hospital at some point in the future, the prospect of managing afterwards can be daunting.
The service supports you in your own home for up to six weeks; working with you to find out what help you need, and then manage things for you until you feel like yourself again.

Our Site Officers provide an affordable Handyperson Service for our customers living in our Independent Living communities. From building flat pack furniture to putting up curtain rails or even help turning a mattress, anything that wouldn’t be classed as a day to day repair then the Site Officers can probably do it.
This is a subsidised service of £10 per hour for customers in ILS schemes and £20 an hour for all other customers. Please note you need to provide the materials.
