This week employees organised the first cake sale for our new corporate charity, St Peter’s Hospice and have raised an amazing £147.83 so far!
Over the next 12 months our staff are hoping to raise £5,000 to help care for terminally ill people after choosing to support St Peter’s Hospice as our charity of the year for 2018. There’s more cake to sell so we’re hoping to reach £200.00 by the end of the week.
Customer Liaison Officer, Sarah Durbin said; "I’m so very proud to work in a company where our colleagues so whole heartily engage in raising money for our chosen charity. We know that staff and customers have first-hand experience of the work they do caring and supporting adults with life-limiting illnesses and their families and we’re determined to raise as much as possible for this great cause.”
Executive PA, Karen Hopton won star baker with her chocolate daisy cake, Karen said; “I’m delighted that the cake won the tasting competition and most importantly able to help raise funds for St Peters Hospice. We’ve seen (very recently) what a hospice can do for the family and the care and support they provide to everyone involved is phenomenal – they fully deserve our support and gratitude.”
A couple of members of staff also became in-house coffee baristas this week and raised £35.00 for the charity. They will be repeating their coffee morning every month to add to the final £5,000 total.
