Residents and staff from across Merlin raised their mugs of coffee and tucked into cake to raise an amazing £1,500 for Macmillan last Friday.
The biggest event was at at Kennedy House in Yate where dozens of residents and staff dug deep into their pockets as they enjoyed a huge selection of home-baked cakes and a massive raffle which raised £1,000.
Independent Living Services Team Leader Tracey Prosser said: “We’re absolutely ecstatic at how much we raised. Everyone had a great time and we raised so much money for such a good cause.
“We had loads of cakes made by staff, residents and their family and friends. I’d also like to thank all of the local businesses who were absolutely brilliant at donating prizes for the raffle and to all the residents and staff who donated things as well.”
Meanwhile staff at Merlin’s offices in Chipping Sodbury, Patchway and Kingswood raised around £250 from baking and selling cakes, while a customer coffee morning at Abraham Fry House in Kingswood also raised £250.
