We've expanded into the Stroud area for the first time with the acquisition of six new homes.
We recently completed a deal with Redcliffe Homes to take on five of the 17 homes that the Chipping Sodbury based developer is building on Rodborough Common. And this week we've acquired a newly-built home in Stone, which is ready for its new occupants to move into in the next couple of weeks.
It’s the latest in a string of deals we've completed as we increase our stock of new, affordable homes. Last year we expanded our homebuilding programme by more than 40% to build 131 homes. By 2019 our goal is be building 300 new homes a year and will be looking for further opportunities to build more in the Stroud area.
Development Manager Peter Crouch said: “We’re pleased to be working with Redcliffe Homes to bring these new homes to the Rodborough area. It’s a wonderful location and we’re confident the homes will be popular. Three of the homes will be for rent, while the other two will be available to buy through our shared ownership scheme.
“Together with the home we’ve acquired at Stone, these are the first homes we’ve developed in the Stroud district but we’ll be looking for more opportunities to build more affordable homes in the area in the future.
We are part of the Gloucestershire Homes and Communities Partnership with other housing associations in the county. The partnership is bringing organisations together to discuss how the county will deliver the 50,000 new homes that are needed to tackle Gloucestershire’s housing crisis.
