Thirty-five customers have agreed to clear their debts following our latest blitz day as we continue our work to reduce arrears levels.
Members of our Income Management team went out with staff from the rest of the business, to visit around 160 customers living on a single day, to chat to them about their arrears and find out if they needed any support to help them pay.
Income Management Team Leader Fiona Beard said: “We made 35 arrangements for tenants in arrears to clear their debt, and also gave out 17 packs to encourage parents to stop smoking."
We've launched our arrears blitz days as another means of cutting our arrears. In March 2014 arrears were 2.03% of total rent, but fell to 1.45% by March 2015.
In 2015-16 we're aiming to have arrears at no more than 1.6% of total rent, and have bettered this target every week so far. For more information about how we can help customers manage their finances, visit our debt advice page.
